Safdarjung Railway Station, New Delhi
The project envisions the Redevelopment of the Existing Safdarjung Railway Station as a modern transportation hub with an integrated commercial and retail development system.
The design involves creating a modern station building, a connecting concourse, strengthening of the platform infrastructure lines and a commercial office complex with retail facility inter linked with the Station building.
A seamless pedestrian movement is designed by segregating arrival and departure area through lifts and escalators and separate pick up and drop off area to enter and exit the platforms. Platforms are covered with unique, innovative, lightweight canopies.
A New Signal Building is also to be part of the redevelopment proposal to commodate Signaling Facilities from exiting Station Building. Independent services have been planned in the basements for Station as well Commercial Development.
