The project which revolves around the expansion of the existing intends to place this airport on an international standard. Several state-of-art facilities will be incorporated using innovative and sustainable design approach. Transportation strategy which could encourage airport connection to the city and the people through different modes of transport is undertaken.
The airport terminal design is done to handle 25 million capacity of people annualy in an efficient manner and to give 'a sense of place' to the city of Pune for the visitors as well as for the residents by creating a series of experiential spaces.
